Looking Back – Supervision 2024: Art
Autumn has begun, and like every year, TBBF BailongBall Supervision is just around the corner. And: before supervision also means after supervision – you may remember our post about last year’s supervision on the topic of the discipline Game. Well, as the name of that post suggests, there are two posts about last year’s supervision😊This second post is dedicated to the discipline of Art, which, along with the discipline of Game, was a central component of last year’s supervision (our announcement). You can see in detail here what Irina, our instructor, taught the participants.
As fundamental elements, the figure eight and the reverse figure eight are examples of solo techniques. You can find more solo techniques in this video or in this blog post about solo techniques as part of the Junior Trainer Certification.
And both“eights” can be combined wonderfully with another solo technique element—the lasso:
And now in alternating order:
As you can see, basic solo techniques can be combined flexibly and freely incorporated into a choreography. Next Irina will show how you can gradually increase the complexity of your movements. To this end, she uses circular movements. First around the body…
The next step towards finesse is circling the racket around your head.
And now a smaller circle—behind your back and around the ball:
But now let Irina enchant you when she combines all the movements and techniques you have learned so far into a graceful and varied freestyle choreography.
This year, we will once again be focusing on the Art discipline. Were you as fascinated by Irina’s exercises and choreography as I was? If so, keep an eye on our upcoming posts for a summary of this year’s supervision—or better yet, come to Bonn and experience it live 😊
