The French Wushu Federation (FFAEMC) organized the first official BailongBall championships in France
The championship on April 5 followed an initial test competition, which was held in 2024 as an “open” competition.
There were 9 participants:
- 7 women, 2 men
- 1 junior (under 21), 8 seniors (40+)
- 5 in Taolu (2 medals awarded)
- 9 in the Miniplay (3 medals awarded)
The FFAEMC’s specific regulations for organizing BailongBall events stipulate that Taolus without music and Miniplay are the only competitive events to be offered, although a Roundplay event is also being considered for 2027 and beyond …
Given the number of participants, no age or gender groups were formed, which made the event all the more enjoyable. However, with more participants, level (“Duan”) categories are being considered for 2027 and beyond!
Since some of the registered players were also qualified judges and referees, there was always only one head referee at the judges' table. The Miniplay event was officiated by the participants themselves, and the four players who were not competing in the taolu formed the judging team together with the head referee—all in all, a very successful and fair organization!
