On April 1st and 14th, the Basque Association of Beach Tennis and Minority Sports (BailongBall section) organized the 1st Basque Country BailongBall Championship, in the singles category. On April 1st, we got together and set up two courts at the Trapagaran open-court tennis court, and on April 14th, we set up two more courts at the Aiegas (Ortuella) indoor soccer field. The atmosphere was ideal, and the weather was good.
We played two or three rounds on both days, and above all, we took advantage of the opportunity to improve our technique and learn the rules while practicing. People really enjoyed it, and we will continue to hold tournaments throughout the year. For example, in October of this year, if all goes well and we buy four more paddles, we will play in the 1st Basque Country BailongBall Championship, but this time in doubles.
